Distillation is a process of separation of the components in the solution, which involves two phases, gas and liquid phases. All components in the two phases. Gas phase arising from the evaporation of a liquid phase.
In the distillation apparatus are packing or tray (plate) as a tool for the contact between the gas phase and liquid phase. Feed containing components to be separated, is inserted into the column. Due to gravity, liquid drops down, from tray to tray underneath, or from the top to the packing packing down. While the vapor moves up to the top in contact with the liquid. In the distillation tower, the part above the entry point of the feed called rectifying section, while the section below the entry point of the feed is called stripping section.
